It’s about time someone raked Duffy over the coals for his being a shill for the Conservatives on his show. And Ms. May was the one to do it:
Hat tip to John Waugh for the background on the story, and for a commenter in his comments section for finding the video clips.

He really is a more corpulent Rush, isn’t he?

Good for her. I applaud any politician who calls anyone on journalistic malpractice.
I never liked Duffy. He’s always seemed shifty to me.
What an uber jerk! Way to go Lizzie May!
That. Is. Awesome.
Wouldn’t you love to see more of that kind of “interview”?
Good for Elizabeth . . . .
Now if somebody could tear him a new one for the other dozen times a week he does this to someone.
You could all write into CTV, copy in Fife, Duffy, et al with your complaints.
We pay for cable, we have to watch their never ending commercials, but most of all they (all the major networks CTV/Global, etc) do receive taxpayer funding – they owe it to taxpayers to be UNBIASED.
MORE: What’s particularly galling is that every one of the players who made this entirely self-interested decision are funded in whole or in part on the public dime: the political parties, the CBC and Radio-Canada, but also Global, CTV and TVA, who make off with massive implicit and explicit subsidies. They’re conspiring against the public interest, on the public’s dime!
From Andrew Coyne’s blog – Sept 8/08 re allowing May into the debates.
Fabulous – and boy did mike ever have a red face on that one…. *finally* someone calls chub-a-lub out on his tactics. Brilliant, simply brilliant.
It pisses me off that the YouTube poster didn’t post the video clip in context, and tried to frame it as May going “bonkers”. Give me a break. The irony in that attempted spin has layers of irony on top of it.

Scott, please take a moment to link to the complete audio found here http://befuddled.ca/2008/elizabeth-may-takes-duffy-to-the-wood-shed%e2%80%a6-that%e2%80%99s-a-big-assed-wood-shed/
Activist at heart, Ms. May always has to have the last word. The behind closed door deal she made with Mr. Dion was not democratic and did not show any concern for Central Nova residents who for generations have supported liberal platforms and policies. Her brash and antagonistic manner overshadows her intelligence and if elected will be an embarrassment to the residents of Central Nova and Canada.
