From the Make Parliament Work website:

The Conservative government introduced an economic and fiscal statement last week that failed to provide economic relief for Canadians or any measures to get the economy back on track. Canadians need a government that shows leadership. The opposition parties are acting in a responsible manner. They are not going to force another costly and time-consuming election. Instead the Liberals and the NDP are planning to form a coalition government, with the support of the Bloc Qu├ębecois in the House of Commons, to get this Parliament to address the economic crisis in a way that benefits workers and their families. Let’s support a coalition government that will get us through this economic crisis.

Nice to see they had enough common sense and tact to not hold a rally on December 6th – the anniversary of the Montreal Massacre at L’ecole Polytechnque in Montreal – like say, our opponents have decided on doing.

  • Anyone with PQ bona fides coming out in favour is, yes. And Parizeau carries more weight with the hardliners than anyone. That together with Marois’ tepid endorsement covers Duceppe with his base handily.

  • Roll Tide

Lapierre said today that Parizeau will come out for the accord. Is this good news for Dion?

  • Excellent, except why is nothing happening in Montreal or Quebec City?

ALSO: regarding proroging Parliament – anyone know if there is a set timeframe for the G-G to respond to such a request? Can she say: “let me think on it a few days”? Could that be her a way out for her?
