Well done, Mme. Jean

Governor General Michaëlle Jean discussed the plight of her native Haiti with U.S. President Barack Obama, who invited her to come to Washington – an invitation that was not extended to Prime Minister Stephen Harper

I’m not writing that to take a shot at Harper, by the way.. but to applaud the Governor-General for being more then just a smiling figurehead… and impressing the President with her concerns and knowledge of her native Haiti and the region to earn an invite.

Did anyone miss the REAL POINT HERE??
Mme. Jean is supposed to be representing Canada…not haiti
That is why any dignitaries or elected officials in Canada should be NATURAL CANADIAN citizens.

“I see nothing wrong with taking a shot at Harper”

At least you admit that the Star news reporter did indeed take a shot at Harper. Front page and all. Remember it was a NEWS article, not an opinion column.
This is what we have come to expect from the far left. Control over the media.

  • I see nothing wrong with taking a shot at Harper..our GG impressed Obama. Obviously Harper didn’t.

I see nothing wrong with the GG being invited to Washington, it should be welcomed. The Queen gets invited all the time to all sorts of places. Kudos to her.
“an invitation was not extended to Harper”
That is the Star reporter taking a shot at Harper, what one expects from the liberal media. Think…, Prince Charles impresses Obama with his concern about Africa, Obama invites Prince Charles to visit the White House, “an invitation was not extended to Prime Minister Gorden Brown”
What does that have to do with the price of tea in China?

A prime example of a news reporter injecting her liberal bias. Remember, its not a opinion column, but a news column. Thank you Scott for exposing this, however unintentional.

The President certainly appeared to be enjoying his chats with the GG.

BTW, many of the comments on this story were so disgusting as to be embarrassing.
