“The personal attack is the last refuge of the scoundrel who has nothing of substance to say”-Edmund Burke
Edmund Burke is viewed by some as the philosophical founder of modern conservatism, but his modern-day disciples in today’s Conservative Party here in Canada seem to have forgotten that lesson.

The Conservatives have also forgotten the remarkable eloquence of Edmund Burke who, though my political enemy, was not a man of soundbites and crass bullying.
The idea for the Conservatives is that the ends justify the means. Anything is acceptable if it prevents the Liberals from winning an election.
I think Burke would be disgusted on a number of levels by the Conservative Party of Canada.
