Forget about funding a Montreal PRIDE gay and lesbian arts festival that brings millions of dollars in revenue to that city. The government of Canada prefers to spend their economic stimulus on stimulating a nordic spa startup industry:

I think there’s a joke to be made somewhere here about shifting funding from PRIDE parades to bath houses. I could also make the point a PRIDE parade (edit: or related festival as noted above) is also bound to attract novelty-seeking visitors as well, with a lot more bang for the stimulus buck.
Seriously, Scott, you have lost your way if you cannot see that the welfare of society rests on the happy union of church and state and well-manicured nails.
