Tea Party North

The Canadian version of the Tea Party led by the Canadian version of Sarah Palin has let slip a couple of revealing remarks:

A Wildrose candidate in the Alberta election is apologizing for suggesting he has an advantage in his ethnically diverse riding because he is white. “I think as a Caucasian I have an advantage. When different community leaders such as a Sikh leader or a Muslim leader speaks, they really speak to their own people in many ways. As a Caucasian, I believe that I can speak to all the community,” Ron Leech said on the “South Asian” program that aired on CHKF-FM, a multicultural radio station in Calgary. Wildrose Leader Danielle Smith was not aware of the comments when asked about them Tuesday, but said she wasn’t concerned after they were read to her.

and earlier….

Edmonton candidate Allan Hunsperger, a pastor, came under fire for a blog he wrote last year in which he said gays and lesbians would end up in an eternal “lake of fire” if they didn’t change their ways. Smith stood by the candidate..

and still earlier:

The woman leading a front-running party in Alberta’s provincial election has cast doubt on the widely-accepted scientific theory that human activity is a leading cause of global warming…Smith has always been coy about whether she believes carbon dioxide emissions from human activity are altering the Earth’s climate. She declined to respond to Liberal Leader Raj Sherman’s question: “Danielle, are you seriously denying climate change?” But during the debate she said her party believes that not enough is known about climate change.

The scary thing is that there may be enough Albertans out there that agree with the WRP’s views to vote them in.

    Huh?
What is racist about admitting he has an advantage because of his race?

Do you guys even try to make sense any more, or do you just do the Pavlov’s dog act every time you hear the bell ring?
