A shout-out to a political local friend.

I wanted to take this time to congratulate a local Brantford Liberal and friend of mine – Donna Nelson. She’s the current President of the local Brantford-Brant Women’s Club, but she’s now going to be doing a bigger role ;). It was announced from Cristina Taglione, who is President of the Ontario Women’s Liberal Commission, that Donna has been chosen to be the OWLC’s new VP of Fundraising.

Cristina’s announcement of this can be read here. Congrats again Donna.. I know you will represent Brantford-Brant well and will do great work for the OWLC.

LPCO / OWLC Stuff

So the LPCO had their AGM over the weekend, and I just wanted to say a couple of things about it briefly. Unfortunately, my friend and fellow blogger Jeff Jedras didn’t quite make it in his bid to be the VP Comms for LPCO – Christine Michaud won that position, and congrats to her – but I wanted to congratulate Jeff on his campaign; it takes a lot of courage to put your name out there and then be scrutinized by a lot of people. Endorsement: Lynne Steele for OWLC President

There will be a new Ontario Women’s Liberal Commission President picked at the LPCO AGM on Sept 12-14. I’ll be brief and I’ll be frank. I’m endorsing Lynne not because I particularly know her (I don’t) but I know a fair # of the folks who are endorsing her, and that in itself is good enough for me.

Volunteer Positions Open for the OWLC

A friend of mine on the Ontario Women’s Liberal Commission mentioned this, and took me up on my offer to help publicize the fact that the OWLC is looking for some executive positions to be filled:

The OWLC has several vacancies on our executive and we are hoping that you or someone you may know may be interested in joining our team until the fall 2014 AGM.

Positions available include:

Vice-President Organization Vice-President Communications Vice-President Constitutional and Legal Affairs Vice-President South Western Ontario
